The trap works great for large squirrels but is only instantly lethal if the trap strikes the rodent’s neck. FYI-It is critical the bait (in my case peanuts) is placed forward of the placement nail to reduce the potential risk that the squirrel may lunge forward too deep into the tunnel to get to the bait. If the squirrel crawls too far in, the trap will strike at the shoulders or behind the front legs preventing a quick kill.
