Perfectly doable for the average screwdriver user.
Hardest part, getting the case open. In my case I use a a hairdryer to soften the adhesive then the guitar picker to open. Second hardest removing the old battery. Mine was a pig & had to use plastic levers from car body panels. Refit easy. Screws are very small. Performance of new battery really good & capacity 100% & lasts so much longer..very pleased.

Do not buy

At last - a quality battery
It's so hard to find a quality battery amongst all the cheap imports. Some batteries limp along after installing them and are dead after a few months, some are overpriced for what is essentially the same cheap product in expensive wrapping paper. This MegTech batter is the best I've had yet since the original one installed by Apple. My phone feels like brand new - everything is so quick again. In addition, in the first week of use, I've haven't been able to end the day below 64% battery life, other than where my phone had a 2 hour workout attached to a digital piano. Shipping was very fast after the phone kept crashing over Christmas. The screwdrivers are higher quality and it was great that it came with the stickers to keep the battery in place. This phone is perfect for me, and really wanted a good quality battery, especially with so many fake and cheap poor quality ones available. Definitely recommend. Too fiddly!
The iPhone design is not very good! The use of minute screws of various sizes to retain components could be made a lot easier with a little engineering design! A simple press to fit locking and easy release system would be more beneficial. That also applies to screen replacements!
