    Saves the day

    Functions like it's suposed to. Run it through the action just like a new carteidge and it grips the broken cassing, pulls it out smothly and is redy for ejection.

    Might work, might not.

    One of the tools not needed until something goes wrong. Until then, its functionality is unknown. In comparison to a mil issue M1 Garand (30-06) broken shell extractor, I doubt that the rim (claws) that hooks the neck of the broken case is large enough to grip a shell. Additionally, the spring does not push the claws up fully on the taper that should cause the claws to expand. Expansion can be forced by screwing the base tight enough to push the claws up fully onto the taper. Pay your money, take your chance.

    Broken Shell Extractor

    Appears to be a solidly constructed extractor but I have not needed to use it yet. It will stay in the gun box "just in case" and is a reasonable investment.

    .308 Extractor

    This extractor might work in a bolt gun! But my FN FAL carrier ass'y bent the thread end as the ejector strength is greater than the tensile strength of the metal it's made out of! Sadly.
