Product Information

The Sigma 1.4x APO DG is a teleconverter lens that is fitted in between the camera body and the lens in order to enhance and extend the camera's focal length by 1.4x. For example, if using a 300 mm lens, the teleconverter takes its focal length to 420 mm. The Sigma lens is compatible with Sony and Minolta digital SLR cameras, fitting best with non-HSM type lenses. Ghosting and flare have been reduced in the Sigma 1.4x APO DG thanks to its design and multi-layer coating, thus fixing a common digital camera problem. While the minimum focusing distance is left unchanged in the case of the teleconverter lens, it is still capable of offering maximum magnification, thus enabling users to take both macro photos and photos of faraway objects. Moreover, it reduces the amount of light by just one f/stop. The Sigma lens works best when attached to long telephoto lenses that are not wider than 50 mm. The dimensions of the Sigma 1.4x APO DG are 2.7 inches by 2.7 inches by 0.8 inches and it weighs 5.1 ounces making the lens rather lightweight and compact.
