Synopsis
Darrell Scott launches a crusade for changing the world based on the ideals of his daughter Rachel, whose martyrdom at Columbine High School is chronicled in the bestselling book Rachel's Tears., Rachel Scott and her killer Eric Harris both talked about starting a "chain reaction." Eric used violence to kill and destroy at Columbine High School. But Rachel chose another path. In a personal creed she wrote one month before her death in the Columbine tragedy, she explained her conviction that if one person goes out of his or her way to show compassion, it will start a world-changing chain reaction ofkindness. For Rachel, this was a solemn calling. And now her father, Darrell Scott, is carrying on her crusade by challenging people of all ages to commit themselves to creating a revolution of compassion that can make a real difference in our troubled world. Chain Reaction spells out this challenge in compelling detail, providing moving examples of practical compassion and giving illustrations from Rachel's life and journals., Rachel Scott and her killer Eric Harris both talked about starting a "chain reaction." This is one of the greatest teaching books I have ever read. When I started reading this book I could not put it down, I ended up reading half of the book and would have read the rest of it if I hadn't got so sleepy that I couldn't see to read any more. I learned so much from this book, that I bought my friends one too. This seventeen year old girl knew more about the way God wants us to love one another than I do and I have been a christian for twenty seven years and I'm fifty two years old. My prayer is that I will learn to let God work in me like He worked in her life. I will use this book as a teaching tool.

  • Start your own chain reaction

Rachel Scott was murdered at Columbine High School. She wanted to live a life of kindness and start a chain reaction that would eventually impact the world. Eric Harris was the one who did the shooting with his "friend", he also wanted to start a chain reaction, but one of hate and violence. This book inspired me to start my own chain reaction. I want to do random acts of kindness to those who are hurting. I highly recommend this book.

Excellent account of an authentic Christian life. After attending our School's assembly entitled "Rachel's Challenge" I determined to read all that I could about this unique young lady. As a minister -- I recommend this book to every teenager. I believe it will cause any reader to rethink their purpose in life and cause many to choose to adopt the challenges Rachel' lays out to make a difference in their surroundings...
