I had been using a Ryobi cordless for a while and came to the conclusion that it’s just about ok for stud work and other rough cuts as for detailed work it was a no no, so I splashed out and bought the Makita HS7611J to go along with my Makita KP0800 planer and machine this is, 1600w powerful motor, it like comparing a Rolls Royce to a Lada as far as the Ryobi is concerned, it’s cuts like a hot knive through butter, it’s surprisingly light weight for the size of motor, it fees pure quality and expensive in the hand giving off accurate cuts time after time, I absolutely love it .

Bought it to saw through 2400mm X 30mm oak. Went through the length like a hot knife through butter. I used a finer blade than the Makita blade supplied with the saw as I didn't want splits. Perfect cut.

Cuts well & appears well made and sturdy. You will need an adaptor to use a guide rail which is a bit expensive so should be factored in if that's how you wish to use it.

Really like this saw, plenty of power to do the tougher jobs and not too bulky, I have the HS00600 270mm also for sleepers.
