    An excellent read.

The book was in an 'As New' condition. The book is only recently published (within the past 2 years). As most of the books in this series are set in the 19th Century (as this one is in fact) I thought the Author must have died, but he is obviously still writing. This is an excellent read, and the chapters are not too long.

  • Perhaps the best in this series?

The author applies his usual skill in parading a range of possible suspects for the reader to consider. The partnership of Colbeck with his sargeant and other helpers systematically gather information. Unusually a cooperative and observant railway policeman makes key contributions to finally solving the murder mystery.

  • Good Easy Reads

Easy to read and really good yarns rater than works of Shakespeare. All good holiday reads.

  • As above

Excellent reading well written by Edward Marston. He brings the characters to life, what life was like over 150 years ago. Inspector Colbeck is a true detective.
