  • Egomania for model ship makers.

Oh dear. This book was written in the pre- Internet era by a man whose ego is so inflated, the rest of us can only look up and ridicule from beside his feet of clay. Two major irritations: the author is american and like some others has a world blindness. Need a sheet of 4mm walnut? Sure! Head on over to a supplier in Milkwaukee or Anchorage, Alaska (empatically long since out of business anyway). He assumes everyone is american. Secondly, his contempt for ANYBODY who is employed in the kit business is a loathesome creature indeed. The author's models were torn from his very soul - so why cant YOU be more like him? The contempt is palpable. Finally. I have seen worse illustrations, but memory has blpcked the encounter. Truly dire text, but some good advice. Out of date, and it shows.
