It is my first Burris unit so I can't compare it to previous Burris. But compared to Leupold and Nikon it is just as clear. It has a really large tube and some good features the best of which is the First Focal Plane reticle. It's good because it is FFP and also because it is the mil version. The illumination is over blown because half the setting are useless. They are so dim as to be useless except in "no" light situations which all means the scope is useless then too. My unit reticle light isn't visible until the 5th position and that is again only in total darkness. All other functions of the scope are working as advertised. I will suggest using a 20MOA mount when planning the install. The scope comes set up to take advantage of a 20MOA mount when zeroing. My other suggestion is to use clamp on handle to make changing the power factor easier.Read full review

This scope with a set of Burris tactical rings makes a tough and reliable optics for whatever you put it on. Very bright and clear. On 25 power you can pull targets in to sight very well. Scopes with higher power are hard to see through without the correct eye relief. Comes with sunshade which gives a great look on a tactical rifle and is functional when the sun is shining towards you. Would to pay twice the price for any other scope with the same features. Holds zero spot on.

This is a great quality scope! I like it so much that I've got 2 additional. Scope is Crystal clear and let's enough light in to see for hunting hogs at night. This is the only scope I've got with an Illuminated reticle that doesn't give wash out from the Illuminated reticle when used at night.

This scope has all the essentials; front focal plane, side focus with parallax adjustment, wide magnification range (5-25) and excellent light gathering ability with its 34mm tube. It also has zero-stop turrets and an illuminated reticle. Add Burris's lifetime guarantee, and it is a remarkable value for its price. A great scope for long-range shooting!

This will be my second purchase of the 5x25 xtr. Started looking for a long range optic the Burris runs about 1500 lest than the night force and about the same as the vortex. I have had Burris on most of my weapons since I was 14 and am very impressed with their optics it was an easy choice for me. I was not disappointed top notch scope.

Works great, very easy to use. Only wish the brightness for optic was a little brighter. Other than that, very clear glass and nice that it comes with all the accessories.

I was torn between this and the Gen 2 Viper. This scope hangs with it all day. Some complain about the turrets being a little stiff (which they are) but I'm perfectly fine with it to alleviate accidental bumping. I also think it is built tougher and more rugged than the Viper. Highly recommend and you won't be disappointed.

I bought one of these when they first came out, paid new price, liked it then . After having put several thousand rounds through it, I gladly paid 585 for a used one.

Scope came brand new. I was a little skeptical because of the price but it’s authentic and there’s not a single problem with it. Very very pleased.
