Jackson Browne - Running On Empty (Live/+DVDA)
This album reveals different styles of Jackson's work, maybe because of his collaboration with Glen Frey on some of it. It is very atmospheric, with asides during the vcals on some tracks. There's a heart-rending picture of him walking away from the camera carrying his young son and holding the hand of a very thin young woman, who I presume is his first wife, who, not long after the picture was done, took her own life. This album reflects on the cost of life on the road for the members of a touring band. That doesn't mean it's turgid-far from it, with the dynamics of 'Running on Empty', 'The Load Out' and 'Stay'.
