What can I say it performs well, great for gaming at 1440p (with 3080) no drops in frame rates and no bottlenecking, it can do multiple tasks at the same time, I alway but the previous generation as they perform just as good and a fraction of the price. Overclocking is easier and held well at 5Ghz.

Ive read so many different and contrasting reviews of the i79700k. Some saying it's a hot chip and cant overclock effectively and some reporting ridiculous overclocks at 1.5v so I'll give you my honest results. I was hands down blown away by this chip. I have installed onto an MSI GAMING PRO CARBON with the EVGA clc 240 cooler (push pull set up using 6 silent wings 120mm fans running at 1600rpm - 48dbs for both benchmarks and gaming) using thermal grizzley. I upgraded from a i5900k which was no slouch in gaming but i got a good price on the i79700k so though what the hell. I have done a simple overclock to 5ghz at 1.27 volts with 0 avg offset. I've run prime 95, intel burn at max and various other stress tests and confirm cpu is fully stable. Max temps low 70's in benchmarks and 60 when gaming. I fully recommend this chip it's an absolute beast, which im running silently.Read full review

Upgraded from a 9600k, noticing the difference already in games with the 2 extra cores. After factoring in the cash from selling the old cpu this actually cost £100. Delighted.

Amazing bang for the buck. I'm using this alongside a brand new RTX 3070 with no bottlenecking at all, and being a previous gen cpu it's powerful but cheap(er).
