About this product

Product Information

Virtua Tennis players will face off against a number of pro tennis stars in an all-out battle for supremacy. Sega has attempted to faithfully reproduce each character in digital form. The court type affects gameplay; a ball bounces differently on grass and carpet than on clay. A number of modes are available in Virtua Tennis, from quick Exhibition matches to the World Tour set-up, which takes players around the globe in search of worthy competition. This portable version of Virtua Tennis is based on the acclaimed Dreamcast hit, translated to PSP by the U.K.'s Sumo Digital.

  • Fast action tennis game, excellent graphics.

Before you slam me on this review, I would like to caveat that I had a Sega Dreamcast console back in 2000 and played a GREAT game called Virtua Tennis on the Dreamcast. It was the best tennis game I've played at the time, there was a PS2 game later on called Smash Court Tennis which was also fun, especially because that game featured Anna Kournikova. The PSP version of Virtua Tennis is an almost exact port of the old Virtua Tennis game, and feels exactly like the 2000 Dreamcast game. The PSP controls are a bit harder to get used to, but with only 3 buttons, it's not that bad. I'm not giving this game a perfect score because it's too familiar to me. However, for the many of you who didn't buy the deadend Dreamcast console, this would be a great game, especially since it features ...

  • A fine conversion

This version of the game is almost exactly the same one as the Dreamcast Tennis 2k02 game, which i also own. The poly count is lower but the spirit is in there, so it's still an extremely enjoyable game. The aded challenges are cool too, they add up to a great 1 player experience. I didn't try Multiplayer yet. ONE PROBLEM: It does not seem to like my Sony 4GB Memory Stick Duo card. It says it doesn't have enough space for the file save (192KB) when it certainly has almost 3GB of space. This is a software bug I believe.

  • Great game!

This is my first PSP Game. I'm happy with it because it has beginning levels of play that are building/improving my game skills. The joystick is used a lot in this game. Training games include: Stomper: Improves footwork Tank Attack: Improves stroke Disc Shooter: Improves stroke Bulls Eye: Improves volley Danger Flags: Improves footwork Pin Crasher: Improves serve Prize Sniper: Improves serve Alien Force: Improves volley The skill building games are timed. I haven't tried one that I don't like. I'd say that if you already have total control over your PSP's joystick and other buttons then you'd move along at a quicker pace than I am. However, I'm still having a blast playing it! The music choices are pretty varied and if you don't like any of them then just turn the volumn ...

  • Game Won't Save

I got this game at a great price, so I don't blame the seller. It is marginally inferior to Virtua Tennis 3, but still okay for the money. I have Virtua Tennis 3, and it is more enjoyable. My issue is that the game says I have insufficient memory for saving, when I have plenty of memory on the card I am using, and other games save just fine. I have read about this happening to other people with this game, and the consesus is that the problem is with the age of the game, faulty memory sticks (which mine is not), newer PSPs (which I have), and Sega.

  • Oldies Goodies

It was hard to find the particular game in local. I tried to get it from GAMESTOP but I couldn't. Most good thing for Ebay is everything is there, but nowadays, it is more like internet shopping mall, not auction site.....I miss old days of ebay......it was just like flea market....
