The Day the World Ended is a great Nuclear Holocaust movie. Made in 1955, it shows the trails and tribulations of a few survivors in the aftermath of an end all life war using atomic weapons. Radiation has ravaged the land with only one pocket of sanctuary in a mountainous valley guarded by lead containing ore. Those humans that did not die in the blast or subsequent radioactive fallout, have mutated into various stages of radiation resistant beings. The more severe the mutation, the stronger the creature becomes. These abominations roam the land in search of animal game eaten raw. Once all the animals in the area are consumed, the non- mutant humans become the prey. The only saving grace comes from above--a God send to give humanity a second chance. This a great movie to watch with good character development. Man against man, man against nature, man against himself themes play themselves out in a well balanced mixture. Two beautiful woman grace the screen throughout the movie albeit an older and younger one that are thrown in competition as the love interests of male characters.Read full review
Whats not to like about these two B horror classics ?.I grew up as as a child in the 50s and every Saturday afternoon i always went to the movies .Seeing these old horror movies back then on the big screen scared the hell out of me . I would go home that night and have nightmares about them . then I would go back for more the following Saturday. ..These two old horror classics bring me back to a simpler time i remember in life when Saturday afternoons were spent with boyhood friends popcorn and candy and the thrill of being scared ..was all it was about. Dont miss buying these two classics .as thy give the viewer a true feeling of what 50s horror movies were all about not to mention what fashions .cars .hairstyles life in general was like back then..also you can see some of todays great actors as they were back in the 50s just starting out as actors..Read full review

Classic 1950's Sci Fi film! This is when real horror films were made. Very little high technology but as kids watching these films, they were the best! Haed to find film but well worth the price and effort!
