Reviews
3.5 out of 5 stars - "...YOU COULD HAVE IT SO MUCH BETTER shows deeper roots in the first wave of white electric dance music: specifically the crunchy-guitar R&B and arch-garage songwriting of 1965-67 Kinks....", "It Overflows with Danceable Beats and Catchy Hooks.", 4 stars out of 5 - "Musically, the palette has grown without getting out of hand. Lead guitarist Nick McCarthy appears to have an inexhaustible well of singable guitar riffs: pungent, perfunctory, and hardly ever pretty...", Ranked #11 in Mojo's "The 50 Best Albums Of 2005" - "An imperious state-of-the-nation address delivered with ease.", Ranked #3 in Spin's "40 Best Albums Of 2005" - "Their second disc builds on the kraut-disco of their debut, but frontman Alex Kapranos' dubious sensitivity makes YOU COULD HAVE IT so much better than its predecessor.", "...Shows Franz Ferdinand working harder and sounding bigger, befitting their stature as rock's saviors of the moment...." - Grade B+, "Kapronos' voice is a marvelous wide-eyed sneer....The album sounds exactly like what you'd expect, with pumping disco beats and lookin'-sharp guitars on track after propulsive track." - Grade: B+

  • You Could Have It So Much Better

Franz Ferdinand follow up their Mercuary Prize winning self titled debut album with their new album You Could Have It So Much Better wtih Franz Ferdinand. The album starts of with the Catchy track The Fallen this track provides a great start to the album followed by their recent hit single Do You Want To. This Boy, Evil & A Heathen, Your The Reason I'm Leaving, Well That Was easy, What You Meant & title track You Could Have It So Much Better proves that in a short period the band can produce a record better that what was expected of it. Walk Away, the beautiful Fade Together & Elanor Put Your Boots On (a track named after lead singer Alex's Girlfried) provide the ballads on the album while I'm Your Villan and more notably Outsiders provide the album with indie Disco style songs and easily ...

  • Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have It So Much Better

Easy to listen to with good consistant catchy beats to the songs you will definetly fine something to enjoy on this CD I did. The Tracks Are: the fallen do you want to this boy walk away evil and the heathen you're the reason i'm leaving eleanor put your boots on well that was easy what you meant i'm your villain you could do so much better fade together outsiders My favorites are: the fallen, do you want to, this boy, walk away, you could do so much better and outsiders.

  • You Could have it so Much Better, review by Carl Heath

A very good album. Franz Ferdinand are one of the most interesting and original British bands around, with spikey post punk guitars and witty observant lyrics, a bit of an oddity in the current music scene as they don't sound like the current crop of bands who are all trying to be either the libertines or an 80's wannabe act! Not as good as Franz Ferdinands first album, and any one unfamiliar to the band should try the debut self titled album, but their are a couple of excellent songs on here maybe a couple of tracks two many as theirs a couple of tracks that sound a bit samey, but I would still put this album in my top 10 of this decade to date, its that good. If you like, the Editors, the Rakes, Maximo Park, Elastica, Wire, Interpol, ect, you will love Franz Ferdinand.

  • Follow Up to Genius Debut

Album starts with Do You Want To-best song on here. All the songs sound very similar, needs more instrumental variety like The Coral,British Sea Power, My Morning Jacket or The Hold Steady. Second Albums are often a bridge between a great debut and a classic third album e.g.The Smiths, Stone Roses, Oasis, Beatles etc
