    It may say "for beginners", there are plenty of challenges for any level.

    I bought this book as a thank you gift for someone who is interested in Sahiko. I decided to start with this one, and after I received it, and looking at it, this is a great book for any level. Even though it says it is for beginners, there are plenty of challenges for the more experienced. I even wanted to give some of patterns a try. Lots of drawings and examples. This a great book and well worth the price new or used. This is great book for anyone interested in traditional Japanese crafts. I only wish it had color photos of the examples and patterns, and this only draw back in my opinion.

    Sashiko explained

    This book goes into methods of sashiko, and espeically discussion of the most popular pattersn, their meanings and how t to sew them. This is a valuable resource for sashiko fans who are new to it. This is a book for those being introduced to sashiko; gives good directions and explanations.
