Homosexuality and the Politics of Truth
This book was just what I needed to sort out the truth of homosexuality vs politics. It was eye-opening! I liked how compasionate the author was to those caught in this lifestyle that takes 30-40 years off of their lifespan. He helped me as a christian to know that homosexuals do need to hear that they can change. The story of the skylark (devil's bargain on page 130) explains how homosexuality happens. I was impressed with the scientific and medical facts presented. I loved the example that being born tall may make it possible and more likely that one becomes a basketball player but does not require it. This is the kind of information on genetics that teens need to hear. I was shocked to learn how the American Psychological Association has allowed itself (themselves) to be ... Even more shocking is how this lobby in an organized way is trying to force on society perversions like pedophilia. After reading this book I would say I am more sympathetic to those struggling with this lifestyle and more convinced than ever that we must stop the indoctrination (recruitment) of our children and grandchildren into the trap. The most important thing I personally think we can do as a society is to restore the intact family of husband, wife, and children. Children need their parents to PARENT them, nurturing them "as they are" not as parents want them to be. One of my sisters was very much a Tom Boy and physically stronger than some boys. She was accepted by our mother and all of us as she was. Mama told her that she could be whatever she chose to be (she was not pushed to be as prissy as her 4 sisters). She married young and is now a nurse and the mother of 3 adult children. She also enjoys building projects on her days off.

shoddy research combined with traditional right wing religious views
I picked up this book at a Gay bookstore, thinking I would get some non judgemental reading on the subject of homosexuality. The book starts out compassionately enough, with Satinover discussing a patient with Aids. He seems truly empathetic, describing the young man's overbearing father, how the disease will cut short his life, career potential. (it has been a long time since I read this so I'm not giving a wall to wall description. He starts to shift very early, mentioning how promiscuous Gay men are and he cites some books by Gay men. I don't remember the titles, but after I read the book completely, I went to the Gay community center library and found those cited books. In the foreward, the authors clearly said their book was not a scientific work, they were discussing the ... In the late 70s and early 80s most Gay men were still closeted and it could not be expected that even anonymous telephone surveys would yield objective data. The political climate was still very conservative. (Makes sense to me). How ironic such a whopping mistake (deliberate or not?) finds it way into a book with the word "truth" in the title. Then he describes how the American Pyschiatric Association was basically manipulated and hoodwinked into removing homosexuality from its list of mental illnesses. He describes doctors speaking in masks at the APA convention, as if it was somehow dishonest. Of course, they did! People and many mental health professionals are still increcibly hostile to the idea that homosexuality could be normal. For them to speak openly at a convention would have been career suicide in the 1970s. Finally he apparently is unaware that issuing letters, forging alliances and politicking are ALWAYS a part of large organization. But he makes it look like some sinister plot when the pro Gay forces do it. Lastly he ends with Bible verses and uses the word sin a lot. Of course, he and many other people still feel this way about homosexuality and they are free to do so. But "sin" is neither a political, or medical concept. Sin is a part of a belief system. To imply otherwise as this book title does is very disingenuous.

Truth or Dare
This book reveals the uncompromising truths on the subject, at hand, not meant to offend, but plain simple truth. It also acts as a myth buster to the "politically correct" falsehoods hidden behind a rainbow. It is most highly recommended for those "inquiring" minds seeking truth. A truth you dare not ignore.

Excellent book that reveals the truth behind the homosexual movement and how it has shaped our political outcomes in the past 40+ years. Well researched and very informative. If you're interested in learning the truth about homosexuality this is a must read!
