BBC Quality Treatment of French classic story.
Great story well interpreted in the 1960s by the BBC. Quality actors who really engage with the plot. Somehow the fact it was recorded in Black & White seems to add to the whole presentation. I am very pleased to own it after all these years of remembering it from my childhood. Highly recommended.

an excellent version and runs pretty close the book, must see for count of monte cristo fans.
modern versions have altered the plot of Dumas book the Count of Monte Cristo, but this version happily sticks pretty close to the original with only a few minor changes which presumably where made to fit time wise to this mini-series. Don't be put off by it being in black and white, its an engaging version and Alan Badel produces a stellar acting rendition of this compelling character. Highly rated and a must seemodern versions have altered the plot of Dumas book the Count of Monte Cristo, but this version happily sticks pretty close to the original with only a few minor changes which presumably where made to fit time wise to this mini-series. Don't be put off by it being in black and white, its an engaging version and Alan Badel produces a stellar acting rendition of this compelling character. Highly rated and a must see
