About this product

Product Information

For thirty years the fictional crime novelist and detective Paul Temple, together with his Fleet Street journalist wife Steve, solved case after case in one of BBC Radio's most popular series. They inhabited a sophisticated world of chilled cocktails and fast cars, a world where Sir Graham Forbes, of Scotland Yard, usually needed Paul's help with his latest tricky case. Whilst she and Paul are staying in the fishing village of Downburgh, Steve gets the uneasy feeling that she is being watched by a man at Fisherman's Point. A pleasant boat trip turns into a nightmare when their craft gets shot at - and the boatman himself is later discovered drowned at sea. Back in London, the daughter of the head of CI5 has disappeared, and Sir Graham brings the matter to Paul's attention. Could there be a connection between this and the events in Downburgh? 4 CDs. 3 hrs 35 mins.

  • A classic from the past to stimulate your imagination. A timeless treasure.

Bombarded with countless detective and mystery TV programmes, accompanied with every kind of computerised effects, I asked myself why i would want to buy a cd of a radio serial made many years ago. The first reason has to be the memories of sitting in our darkened room with just the glow from the fireplace listening to the theme music 'Coronation Scot' that led you into another exciting Francis Durbridge episode of Paul Temple. Always left at the end of the episode with a nail biting scenario, we had to endure a whole week to hear the follow up. When I discovered that I could buy tapes and cd's that woul allow me to hear the whole original dramatisation I was so happy. My latest acqusition, 'The Lawrence Affair' has all the usual exciting intrigue with Paul & Steve leading you through to ...
