Playing on words with the famous Jonathan Swift satire novel.
A very funny movie with unsuspected angles. Comedy about Hollywood's movie-machine shallowness in the forties. And an insight about the remnants of the Great Depression that enhance the film from screwball comedy into tragedy back and forth. Veronica Lake, out of the noir flicks surprise us as a first rate comedienne. Check the dinner's scene when she meets McCrea for the first time. A rare classic.
