No book can possibly have all the old American dinnerware patterns. This book does a great job with the patterns it presents and along with the other similiar resource books, I am able to identify the patterns and companies I need help with. I like the book and am glad to add it to my resource collection.
This is really great book for a beginning collector like me. It gives a wonderful selection of some of the most popular dinnerware companies and I love reading about the history of each. Also, the included photos of backstamps is a major plus! This reference has allowed me to decide which pieces I would like to collect (as it's impossible to collect them all) and a few tips on knock-offs and the real thing. Overall, an excellent reference.
Very nice reference book for the beginning collector with a good overview of twentieth century dinnerware. Nice photographs. Prices are a little off. I would recommend this for yard salers and other bargain hunters, but not for a serious collector. The collections are limited, but again a good starter book.
It is a very informative book. I do a lot of research and any books I can get helps a lot. The internet helps me a lot,but sometimes I can't find information on the backstamps of certain things and this book is filled with them.
