I must say I've never spent more than a tenner on a kettle before but due to my partners fibromyalgia we were looking for a solution that you don't have to keep lifting the kettle up. This is perfect we found for the money and the convenience its better than expected, even thou you have to wait for it to boil again if your making more than 1 cup it still performs quicker than a conventional kettle, it just sits in the corner no unnecessary steam hitting the above kitchen cupboards and a choice of cup sizes you can control with an easy dial on the top, construction seems solid with a convenient lid for filling on top easy peasy

It works ok and boils water really quickly. However, even on the top level, it fills little more than half of a regular mug, then have to judge which setting to use in order to fill the rest of the mug. I guess it would be ok if you just want a 'cup' rather than a 'mug' due to having to boil an amount of water twice to just get a mug full and then the first amount of water used has started to cool down.

Bought it to replace kettle, wasn't sure initially but decided to buy it in sale. Love the ease of use, cup size selection and the button to stop pouring in middle. Drip tray is magnetic but easily comes off which is the only negative point, it has to be more stronger. Very easy to clean and light effect when used is pretty cool.

I first owned a Breville water heater some 8 years ago and last year it started to die. I tried two replacements, one was the sophisticated and expensive Morphy Richards and some other less know brand. Both were poor in that the MR one just didn’t hear to 100 C and the other one gave out a slow continuous stream of water as it was heated which caused it’s own electronics to fail. The MR and Breville use the batch method to heat water which to me makes sense. I finally reverted to Breville fir my new heater and don’t regret it. This machine is not sophisticated and has basic options of control, volume only, not temperature, but it heats to 100 C is so near you wouldn’t notice. I wasted my time looking at other brands but finally arrived back at Breville, thankfully. This model has a larger tank than my previous model and it takes up so little counter top, that I love. It is also very fast to heat a cup of water and had no bother making several cups one after the other. It can be refilled by jug as it’s working too, something my old Breville couldn’t do (the whole machine had to be carried to the tap). This is half the price of many of the machines out there so if you don’t need temperature control ( MR), need a small foot print, largish tank, fast boil time and value for money, this is unbeatable in my opinion. I never cleaned my old Breville machine, maybe that’s why it eventually died, I will clean this one as per instructions. See the MR versus Breville side by side for comparison of footprint. MR is 3 litres, but tank alarm stops you emptying past about 2.7 litres. Read full review

This is the third one I’ve had over the years, family and friends have been converted to these by me . It is so easy to use. No lifting a full kettle , I use a jug to fill it .
