    Best version available to date.

    This film proved hard to come by, all of a sudden. I suspect that copies of it are not as prolific as some months before due to increased sensitivity regarding racial issues. I bought the film for its restoration, not its content - this is the best resto available, especially considering that the predominance derives from the original 1915 negative.

    Birth of a Nation

    Those who deny the evils of history always, always!, repeat them… The movie is good. Well made. The scenes are clear. Reconstruction WAS bad. If President Lincoln lived would things have been better? Yes, I believed our Nation would have repaired itself. Would the kkk have evolved? Don’t let the ignorant intolerant (check out DWG’s Intolerant (1916)) keep you from checking out this movie.
