    I think I got a dud!

    I think I got a dud. The loco looks superb, especially the weathering, and it would have been excellent value, but it would not run consistently, especially over points. I cleaned the wheels and track. Checked the pickups. No joy. My little 0-4-0s all run fine over the same track and points. It was probably a dodgy contact inside but I wasn't going to strip a brand new loco to find out.

    Too good to hide in a siding !

    Origionally bought to run to and fro on my new analogue shuttle line. Having arrived I found Janus far too good a model to take up such a mundane task. Consiquently a very easy fitting of an 8 pin decoder for use on the main layout with superb shunting skills !
