Good mystery/horror, low on gore
If you are familiar with Miranda Cosgrove from her teen sitcom iCarly, it may be hard to take her seriously as a 20-year-old with mental health issues who is grieving the recent death of her mother. But after a few scenes, I forgot goofy Carly and sympathized with Rose, who believes there is something strange going on in the old house she recently moved into with her Dad. Of course, because of Rose's mental breakdown, no one believes she is really seeing and hearing scary things. Although the plot is not unique, there are several candidates for the person who is tormenting Rose, so the mystery had me guessing until the end. The final confrontation involves some blood, but the overall gore factor is low, and there is no sex. Appropriate for ages 11 and up.
