Simple Thermostat
The product did not come the same color as described. It was missing all of the screws and was the earliest generation Nest. This is not the learning Nest. Won’t work with Nest App!!!
Won’t work with Nest app. Have to use with google home app. I have existing thermostats and sensors that work with Nest App and I don’t want to change. Google Home wants to connect all smart devices in the home and I like using the separate Apps for the different devices I own. I don’t want to be forced into doing anything at this time! All I wanted to do was to be able to see and control the heat in my basement when not at home. The Google Nest Thermostat was easy to physically install; understand; and operate. It can help you in becoming more energy efficient and save you money! Before buying... 1. Make sure you do the online automated compatibility test to see if you can use the Google Nest Thermostat with your system. 2. Also, go to your electric company's website. You may be able to GET THE Google Nest Thermostat FOR FREE or a greatly reduced price! It physically installs, well, just like your traditional thermostat. If you're not color blind and can use a screwdriver, you can do it. For daily, at home operation, you can set a schedule for the different seasons. Or, you can just walk up to it and make any changes and tweaks. Away - operate it from your phone. Easy! One surprising thing I really liked about it is that it shows the humidity level in your home! People don't always relate the house humidity with their comfort and health, but it is a huge factor! In fact, my ongoing humidity level in my new home was way outside of the range of the EPA recommended 30% to 50%, so I bought a dehumidifier and the effects have been a game changer! As someone who travels, sometimes with a variable schedule as to when I'll return, the Google Nest Thermostat has a temperature (vacation) hold but can be controlled remotely to make the adjustments so that the temperature is comfortable whenever I do get home. I did encounter 1 issue during set-up. You connect it to your Wi-Fi just like a cell phone, easy. But at 1 point it searched for updates and updated itself. That's when it got a little confused and glitchy. So I did a factory reset and started the technology set-up over again. Thereafter things went smoothly and it worked great! great value for a Nest Product, only downside, I had to Use Google and not the nest login also when I open the Google home ap it shows me all my nest products but no temperature overview, that would have been better, On next when I open I see all and all temps, maybe not an issue for most but I have 6 thermostats, so kinda and issueVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good Thermostat
Nice to have the ability to change or adjust temperature from anywhere from your phone. However it doesn’t seem to follow the schedule of the day; it waits until I’m home to start cooling vs be comfortable when I have it scheduled to be. Fairly easy installation.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Does not really fit well into the Google Home model. Make something good not just new.
It is not a nest device. Google should face a class action lawsuit against the lie on the box that it is a nest device. If Google's business model was like apple they would be twice the size they are now. If Apple had Google's business model they would be out of business. Great GREAT alternative to the Learning Thermostat (which we also have and love)
Fantastic. Great inexpensive alternative to the more expensive Learning thermostat for us because we have a second zone that is small and heating only (an addition). The Learning thermostat for our main is working out famously btw.

Reverted to HoneyWell. The Google Nest only starts the fan, not the heating system.
Was unable to make it work with my heating system, even though it has the 4 wires that are supposed to be enough for it (red, white, yellow, green). The Google Nest only starts the fan but not the heating system . I ended up reverting to my HoneyWell thermostat. It is terrible to try to use and it will waste your time trying
