    Synopsis
Stephen King's second novel, the classic vampire bestseller 'SALEM'S LOT , tells the story of evil in small-town America. 'Salem's Lot is a small New England town with white clapboard houses, tree-lined streets, and solid church steeples. That summer in 'salem's Lot was a summer of homecoming and return; spring burned out and the land lying dry, crackling underfoot. Late that summer, Ben Mears returned to 'salem's Lot hoping to cast out his own devils and found instead a new, unspeakable horror. A stranger had also come to the Lot, a stranger with a secret as old as evil, a secret that would wreak irreparable harm on those he touched and in turn on those they loved. All would be changed forever: Susan, whose love for Ben could not protect her; Father Callahan, the bad priest who put his eroded faith to one last test; and Mark, a young boy who sees his fantasy world become reality and ironically proves the best equipped to handle the relentless nightmare of 'Salem's Lot. This is a rare novel, almost hypnotic in its unyielding suspense, which builds to a climax of classic terror. You will not forget the town of 'salem's Lot nor any of the people who used to live here., 'Salem's Lot is a small New England town with white clapboard houses, tree-lined streets, and solid church steeples. I'm rating it perfectly because the seller did everything in their power to get me the item. It arrived but I heard the usps lady slam the package on my steps like slamming a football after a touchdown. Seller even refunded me which I feel bad about but they were really kind. Definitely a great seller.

A good value for a piece that matches the Corelle dishes we use every day. The casserole dish is just as described by the seller and photos. The seller wrapped the piece carefully with reasonable shipping costs for a fragile piece. I would buy from this seller again.

Best Stephen King book - ever!

I read this wonderfully frightening and ultimately hopeful book when it was first published. A life-long avid reader of everything and a bit precocious, I had read short news items about both the U.S., and at the time the U.S.S.R., we're developing strains of deadly germs to be released during battle. King's book is in the top 10 of the tens of thousands of books I have read in the past 55 years. It vividly brought home an horrific view of the total devastation and terror that germ and nuclear war can unleash. Since that time, I have worked against their use by supporting, working for, and always voting for candidates totally opposed to germ and nuclear warfare.

    • Salem's Lot

Stephen King's second published book it is just as good - no - even better then the first! It stretches the depth of his ability to control horror far past "Carrie" but does not depleat "Carrie's" horrific charm in any way. If you haven't read it, you should. Stephen King is the reigning master of horror and this is the second literary gift of horror he released to the world.
