As a result there was a creasing of the upper at that point. Once the foot was inserted the shoe was comfortable enough. I had previously bought a pair by the same maker in the same size but with a slight variation in the design in the area where I found the restriction. In spite of appearing to be the same shape and style that was not the case. Still a good buy.
