    The Wicker Man - The Final Cut (1973, Blu-ray, 2014)

    This movie plays better now than it did many years ago for me. The "Final Cut" version suits me fine as I didn't want to buy any over-priced versions just to gain only a few extra minutes of film. This blu-ray looks a lot better than what the reviews I read had to say. I never felt like the film itself ever looked that clean but that's just my opinion. Overall, I'm satisfied with this blu-ray and I don't intend on purchasing this film again should they release a longer version on blu-ray or in 4K. What renewed my attention for The Wicker Man was after viewing the movie "Midsommar". Either the folks behind that film are fans of Wicker Man or it is the biggest coincidence in film in years. Not that I mind remakes....it's just it seems the younger generation who like Midsommar has no clue ...

    Good Movie, But Not a Horror Mobie Nor Thriller. Not a Memorable Film

    After reading several review about this movie (and how I should never buy the one with Nicholas Cage in it), I finally got a copy which I could see and I sat down to watch it. The main character goes to Summerisle to look for Rowan Montgomery who is claimed to be missing. After checking with the townspeople, includng the Harbor Master, Her Teacher, and her Mother, she is missng. Then the main character finds out that Rowan, in fact, did exist but she is now dead. Next problem: he cannot locate her body. In the last 5-10 minutes of the movie, it has several final twists. But this was classified as a Horror Film/Thriller. It is neither. To me, the ending was "ho hum." A good watch - but it wasn't great nor memorable.

    Very pagan !! A police officer goes to a remote island to investigate a missing child report only to find himself at the center of a pagan ritual,not to be confused with the Nicolas cage release this is an amazing movie from 1973 so it’s a little dated but if you’ve never seen it before it has an ending you’ll never see coming

    Hail the queen of the may!

    One of the strangest and most beautiful movies ever made. A lysergic trip in time to a vanished culture. And an almost anthropologic analysis of the preposterous mythologies of fundamentalist religions and their absurd and murderous beliefs. The inquisition/ wicker man. All the same. A creepy and marvelous movie you will want to watch again and again.
