Items arrived inn the described condition. They were well packaged and were priced decently. Communication never occurred. Shipping was slow, though. Would buy from again as long as I didn't need it in a hurry.

My book was well packed and I thought that the shipping costs were reasonable. The dust jacket was actually in better condition than I thought it would be based on the description, so I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package. I thought the price was reasonable for a hardback book. I would purchase from this seller again.

For supporters of religious freedom, a must see story!

In the 1920s and 1930s, in Mexico, the Mexican federal government actively persecuted the Catholic Church. Not just the Church hierarchy was persecuted, but also the average believer and practitioner of the faith. Religious orders were outlawed. Foreign priests were deported. Public demonstrations of the faith were outlawed. Catholics were executed and arrested because of their faith. For a period of time, NO masses were being said in Mexico. Catholic Churches were looted by federal troops. Churches were expropriated by the Mexican government. The oppression got so bad that the Catholic people of Mexico finally revolted. The movie is about the armed struggle for religious freedom in Mexico. What a great movie. The story is very compelling.

  • Inspiring

An exciting, action packed movie based on the true story of the Cristero War. The courage and stamina, the passion and determination of the people involved in this historic event is inspiring. There were some slower moving segments of the movie showing the "evolving" of some of the characters into their place among the "Cristero's". Many "unlikely" heroes. This movie is very entertaining, I've enjoyed it so much that I have watched it at least 10 times since my purchase, recommended it to friends and family, and purchased a second copy for a friend!

  • How was this not a blockbuster movie?

Based on a true and easily researchable event. If they did some Hollywood liberty taking it had to be to lessen the horror of what happened. If you're having a crisis of faith or need to find some, then this is the movie for you. That being said I DO NOT recommend that this be shown to any child under the age of 15. Adults will understand the passion and heartbreak. Kids will just see people being abused. A definite MUST SEE!!

  • Great movie and will watch it several more times.

Like true stories and learning some history. Actors are talented and convincing in their roles.

  • A plus movie.

I really bought this as a gift because I had the DVD myself and it is a great movie. It is also historic and takes place in my friend's ancestral homeland.
