Howard Leight products are GREAT!
Product works as described. Comfortable to wear at the range, filters out loud noises but I am still able to hear RO commands. Very pleased with this product. I have purchased a number of Howard Leight products in the past and have been very satisfied with the performance of all of them. It's ok for the price point
These are not outstanding ear muffs, but considering the best cost multiples of hundreds of $, they work ok. I have owned Peltor in the past, and Peltor is much better, but my expensive Peltor quit working with little use, i decided not to spend big money again on a Peltor. Just wish it would fold up like the Howard Leight Sport model
I previously bought the Howard Leight Sport model and wore soft earplugs with it. After several minutes the muffs begin to pinch my ears. So I ordered the Pro model because I was told it was bigger. Well, the diameter is exactly the same because the replacement pads from the Sport fits the Pro. It is only larger in thickness because of more padding. I like the greater sound deadening of the Pro so that I do not have to wear earplugs with it. However, it does not fold up like the Sport, thus taking up more room in my range bag. If I had to choose between the two I would go with the Pro because of the better sound reduction rating.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

29dB, the highest rated muff
There are only two electronic ear muffs that provide a 29dB noise reduction, these Howard Leights and Pro Ears (which are $100 more). I have several of both types, they work the same. My pictures are of the yellow and also a black Howard Leight unit and the pink unit is a Pro Ears. The military desert colored one is USGI and no longer made by Silencio, but it was the first of such high end products. Note the battery compartment access, the switches and the one failed (repaired) joint. This HL brand has a metalIc head suspension, likely better durability altho I’ve had one set fail at the plastic hinge connection at the ear cup. The Pro Ears version is a plastic head suspension and the pads are cushier, but i’ve had the electronics get sweaty and corrode green, destroying a few units. Neither choice option is perfect, but the Howard Leight version is priced way lower. Either choice, get a 29dB as you’re damaging your hearing otherwise, certainly true in any indoor shooting environment (above .22LR) Understand that the 29dB rating is the noise reduction capability even if turned off or no batteries. This is the key to rating the sound reduction capabilities. The electronic portion of the dB reduction is irrelevant for you and me, its stated for scientists and lawyers. Pish posh mumbo jumbo. All you hotta know is 29dB, and there’s only these 2 options. They are great for instructors and their students, allowing for unimpeded communication which is so critical.

Excellent performance and comfort.
I have many ear protectors of many descriptions. Both electronic and not. These are, by far, the best protection for my ears. The voice part is distinct and actually I can hear better with then than without. The muffling function is instantaneous and never allows anything to hurt my ears. great price for excellent indoor hearing protection.
As an economical and effective choice of ear protection, these electronic ear protectors do an excellent job. They are full-sized and not a sexy as some of the more streamlined sets out there, but are solid, great for INDOOR ranges and fit securely. The price is definitely right and has a higher protection rating than most of the higher-priced, more compact models. Fantastic product. I still can't believe it.
These look and feel like a typical pair of "cans". They have a volume switch that makes it so you can hear while you have them on, but when a noise comes along they shut right down. I bought these because I saw them recommended for hunting. I was skeptical but I tried them out. I wear hearing aids and although they were a little uncomfortable when used WITH my hearing aids, I could hear every bird, every twig snap. I thought, "If I fire this gun, I'm going to hear it TWICE as loud." So I tested it, by turning the volume ALL THE WAY up and firing my 30-06, and lo and behold, the gun sounded like it was a mile away. I will say, for hunting, get the smaller ones. These DO get in the way of the gunstock. I had to brace the stock against my pectoral muscle instead of my shoulder to be able to look into the scope. Great performance - worth the $$$
These provide superior sounds protection with a solid 30db reduction . You can clearly hear a casing drop or conversations, but a loud discharge triggers the magic muting of loudness. Very well made and adjustable to fit most. They are lager and heavier than most, but glasses underneath are no problem.
