    Excellent!

    A well written and acted history of a founding father who is not given enough credit. The series accurately portrays his positive and negative attributes. They could have made more of the fact that he insisted on building warships over the strenuous objections of men like Jefferson and Madison. When they became president, those very ships were used to fight the barbary pirates (Jefferson) and the British during the War of 1812 (Madison).

    Great DVD Set

    Fascinating look at the life of this colorful, smart man who was influential in our early history as a nation. Or, as he would say the “States United”. I enjoyed it very much and highly recommend this set as a gift for all who like knowing more about this time period in history.

    Well done docudrama on the second president of the United States, who is so often overlooked in the history books. John and Abigail Adams are aptly portrayed by Giamatti and Linney. The informative element is as good as the entertainment element. Recommended viewing. Single caution: there is one scene of 18th century medical surgery that is intense and not for children.
