I have only had my cuisinart ss 700 a few weeks but we love it. It was worth the little bit more as it comes with a my k cup in a hidden easy to reach panel right in the machine and though a bit bigger then other models the style fits my kitchen perfectly! It brews a quick and delicious cup every time and is great for hot cocoa or soups and tea bags as it has a hot water feature which lets me put away that old hot water pot I had. The only downfall which really is not that big of a deal is that you can not register it at the keurig site for the special buy two get two free offer for new brewers as its not one of their specific models. You need to register it with cuisinart just as the breville andmr coffee keurig models need to be registered at their specific sites and are also not given the chance for that special offer. Still, overall its a great machine and the included my k cup and scoop help you save money by using your own ground coffee in them so it evens out that special offer a but that you can't get.Read full review
I had about week now and absolutely love it. Set up was easy. It actually brew a cup of coffee under a minute. Love that it makes hot water. Already use that for my own teas and hot chocolate. Also for instant oatmeal and grits. Excellent warranty! I did not really drink a whole alot of coffee until I bought this machine. Now I can have coffee, tea, hot chocolate any time of the day. Its does ice tea, but have not tried it because it is cold here in VA. It has different sizes for you needs. 6oz, 8oz, 10oz, 12oz which is a travel mug and 4oz for ice tea. It your a regular coffee drinker I recommended. you buy it, instead of going to Starbucks everyday.
After looking at a number of coffee makers that use K-cups, I decided on the Cuisinart. I like the extra filter, fillable tank, and 5 different cup size choices. You can also remove the tray to fill taller cups such as to go cups. It is easy to use and make a single cup of coffee for me, I am inept at using a regular coffee maker and I would either make it too strong or too weak. This is exact all the time and my coffee is perfect. My children also use it to make hot chocolate, hot cider and hot tea. I like that I don't have to dirty a grinder, a filter, a coffee pot and a cup! Less dirty dishes is always a great thing in my house! It doesn't take up any more room than my old coffee maker and steam doesn't build up under my cabinet. My husband and I can also have different strengths of coffee instead of too weak for him and too strong for me. I wish it had larger cup sizes or that you could program it by number of ounces. I bought a refurbished model, for half the price of a new one. I have not had any problems with it and set up was easy.Read full review
I chose the Cuisinart SS-700 single K-cup brewer to replace a Keurig B70 where the pump failed after a little over 18 months of ownership. So, I thought I would try the Cuisinart SS-700 as an alternative to the Keurig. The Cuisinart offers these pluses: larger, easy-to-fill water tank, a rinse button - great when switching between flavored coffees and hot chocolate, a hot water only button for soups or other items, a storage compartment for the make-your-own filter, and a power switch conveniently located on the side rather than the back. My only small con is the display (although large) which stands vertically. since this unit normally sits on a counter below eye level, it would be nice to have a slightly tilted display to make it easier to read early in the morning. As far as style, its a matter of choice versus the Keurig equivalent. Less modern looking than the Keurig, Cuisinart chose a timeless, retro look (similar to a Kitchenaid mixer). It's a nice-looking stainless-steel (although plastic) finish, so fits in well anywhere. Can't speak of longevity, having had it a short time, but it has been working flawlessly so far. A fine, well-designed product - perfect for chose people who enjoy the K-cup single-serve system!Read full review
I bought the Cuisinart because I think it is better looking and some research showed it was heavier duty than the Keurig. I LOVE IT!!! I LOVE IT!! I LOVE IT!! The "head" mechanism where you put the k-cup is very heavy duty. It's very very easy to use; I figured it out without reading the instructions. You have 5 size choices (oz water brew) and it's programmable - heats up at 5:00am and turns itself off at 6:30am daily so it's always ready when I want it. It will provide hot water for tea plus it will rinse itself if you're that fussy. In addition it has a larger water reservoir than the Keurig. I don't drink but one cup of real coffee and a couple of cups of decaf or decaf tea during the day so making pots of coffee are a waste of time. I've been drinking VIA by Starbucks which is fabulous and you can carry them wherever you go but I wanted a new toy and this unit appealed to me. I could not be happier with my choice. The Keurig doesn't compare in my opinion.Read full review
