Neat bowl, but NOT A SHAVING BOWL! Paint comes off upon contact with water.
Though it was obvious this would be too small to hold any amount of lather, I thought I'd give it a shot just because. Mistake. Everywhere it made contact, the soap took off the bowl's lacquer (if you can call it that) and the lather acquired a dark colour and an abhorrent smell. Do examine the attached photo. The bowl looked just fine when it came in, but the paint's been cleanly taken off wherever the soapy water touched it. That's certainly not a feature I want from my shaving bowls, thank you very much. Unfortunately it's not fit for purpose. It's a pretty neat wooden bowl, but alas, not a shaving one. Probably a better idea to go with one of the chinese stainless steel ones.Though it was obvious this would be too small to hold any amount of lather, I thought I'd give it a shot just because. Nice bowl, but not as a shaving soap bowl.
Bowl came late, lid doesn't fit, most defiantly not air tight. If it was for general purpose it's a nice bowl but as a shaving soap bowl, it's a waste of time. But on the swing side it's only £4.99...

Beautifully turned bowl
I love the simple design of this bowl, it's light, stylish & not too blingy. The natural woodgrain is what makes it special. It's a generous size which gives ample room for most brands of round shave soap to make a good lather, yet it's compact and lightweight so good for travelling too. I have had a few 'named brand' bowls but much prefer this one.
