Witchaven II: Blood Vengeance is the sequel to Captstone's original title Witchaven. The game features a fully rendered 3D cinematic introduction, SVGA graphics and a choice of 15 music tracks to use as background while playing. A level editor is provided which allows for unlimited gameplay. Network play accommodates up to sixteen players and head-to-head modem play is supported. Witchaven II: Blood Vengeance is a first-person, fantasy action adventure wherein the player takes the part of Grondoval, a hero from the first game who killed an evil witch. Now the witch's sister, Cirae-Argoth, is out to exact revenge on you and you'll have to fight and claw your way through fifteen huge levels in order to eventually thwart her. The game uses the slightly outdated (at time of release) 3D Realms Build engine to effect movement. Supplementing your physical prowess in the use of weapons is a system of magic and both are needed to triumph in Witchaven II: Blood Vengeance.
