I sold this lens many years ago. And I have regretted it especially looking at the price they sell for today. I decided to repurchase this lens for nostalgic reasons. The image quality is excellent and the condition of the lens was good considering its age. There is a slight amount of damage to the multicoating at the edge of the front element but as this area is masked by the 35mm frame it does not matter and is barely noticeable. I rated this lens with four stars in terms of value for money. This is beacause this lens is not worth the average price of £160 beacuse it did not cost that much to buy new. I suspect the Carl Zeiss badge and the fact it is a relic of DDR has alot to do with it, and of course the image quality is excellent.
Excellent lens! Nice macro features, nice picture. rather compact lens. Satisfied with it.Little bit dark (only 2.4), so it is not nice to take pictures in the evening, but perfect for the daytime photos.

I really love this lens after I tried it on my M4/3 camera. The color tone was beatiful which I can't find it on my Canon lens. And its close-up focus (like marco) feature is beyond my expectation. I can focus even the distance is below its minimun distance stated on the spec.
