It is unfortunate that of the 5 pencil torches that I purchased only 2 of the 5 (40%) worked. Three of the torches simply did not work. They accepted gas without any problem however; when I tried to light them the mechanism that allows gas to escape from the torch did not function. Simply put;I was unable to light 3 of the 5. The other 2 functioned and operated almost perfectly. I have issue with one of the two that work and that is; it is very difficult to turn off. I was unable to turn the torch off completely without the aid of pliers. Gas would continue to escape when trying to turn the torch off by hand. It did not take a great deal of effort to turn it off completely but, more than I can produce by hand.. Overall the 2 remaining torches are working fine. The cost for the 5 torches was 10 bucks and even though only 2 work properly; it's still a good buy.Read full review

Wouldn't waste your money. The merchant was great but the product is junk. So far I have attempted to use two of the torches of the five purchased. One would not light and the other would barely hold flame. Threw both in the trash. Still have three of the five ordered but have a very low confidence level that they will work any better. Guess you get what you par for.

I knew that these torches were cheaply made when I ordered them, but I figured that for the price, I couldn't go wrong. Big mistake! out of the five only 2 worked but they didn't work for very long. I would not buy these again no matter the price. Kind of sad though I really liked the size, the potential is there for a good product if they invested a little on quality control

I have purchased items identical to these in the past and they have work just fine. However, these must be from a bad run or product line. All five of them stopped working within a day. Don't buy these! Or at least don't buy from this particular place. These are defective. Definitely, buy them from somewhere else. When they are working there an invaluable tool. But, to buy five of them and they have all five non-functional is somewhat disheartening.
