These Sperzel locking tuning gears are great for quick string change and provide excellent tuning stability. You will most likely need to drill a small hole on the back of the headstock for the small pin, so if you are not comfortable with this, you may want to have the tuners professionally installed. Otherwise, they were an easy fit on my G&L ASAT Bluesboy.

the gotohs that i have on another guitar seem better than these. The Sperzels need "Broken in." They also needed the screws on the Key adjusted..tighten or loosen. The GoToh's are smoother and seem more refined. I also accidentally ordered 4 sets of sperzels... each set felt "crunchy" when turning the keys and some of the pins were stuck on the locking mechanism. I actually was lucky that I had extra sets so that I could find all tuners that worked properly. It seems that the quality control might be lacking? they was some sort of felt sticking out the bottom on one of the tuning machines? anyway, that is my experience.

These trimlocks allow for very quick string changing and save all the hassle of having to wrap the string around the post 3 or 4 times before tensioning the string and starting to slowly wind the tuning peg. Instead, you simply poke your string through the hole, tighten the locking nut from underneath then all you do is wind the tuning peg a few times and Bob's your uncle! I've been using these for a few years now on my Strat and don't ever want to go back to normal tuning pegs.

I bought this to put on my Gibson Firebird Zero. With this and a few other upgrades the guitar has gone from mediocre to my favorite electric guitar to play.
