This is the second time I owned this camera. The first I bought new back in 1995 with Minolta's AF 28-85 zoom lens. It was my workhorse camera system to shoot anything I need to at the time. I sold everything and stopped working in photography for nine years. Just recently I saw this camera on eBay and decided to own it again. I've been shooting around with it lately. After all these years the 9xi is just as good a camera as it was when I purchased my first one twenty years ago. I always liked the look and feel of this camera in my hand, and its accurate meter combined with it's quick auto-focusing lens system that can produce excellent picture quality coupled with Minolta AF lenses. I recently bought the Minolta AF-D 24-105 to complete my system. They make an unbeatable combination. I highly recommend this camera.Read full review
Top of the line type of 35mm slr with weather sealed body; auto focus is fast and adequate for most needs. Top speed of 1/12,000 sec is something a photographer may not need, but you never know.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
the minolta 9xi is by any standard, a pro camera. it is the yang to my sony a330 yin. i am happy to find as i was creating a sony system, i was also gathering a minolta compliment. the cards allow each photographer a custom fit. a minolta film camera allows complete focal lengh. in fact, wide angle capture where most digital sensors stress tele. i accept that film is yesterday. however, i respect that without film, i would never have discoverd digital. pardon the zen: with film, and digital, i gainged knowledge. with both together-i am learning wisdom. lawoak....
Since I got this well built pro minolta, it's everything i read about prior to my purchase. I own a digital alpha 77. I bought this for it's pedigree, it has not dissapointed. Fast focus with the xi lens, solid feel when handling, weather sealed, too much good things to list. There is nothing to fault about this camera, the exposure is faultless if not the best. Only wish they made a digital 9xi.
pretty easy to use once you read manual great camera overall a little bulky best analog slr I have ever owned (I now have three)
