Hushpuppy is the 6 year old heroine of Beasts of the Southern Wild; she is imaginary, charming, wild and brave. Though through her own eyes she is mighty and powerful and the universe will know her name; we see that she and her father live in a shack in a run down community called the Bathtub and the universe has it's own plans. The residents in the Bathtub spend their days scavenging, fishing and drinking and teach their children to be self reliant and to believe in a folk religion with giant, ancient creatures called Aurochs. When their idyllic but harsh life is threatened by physical, natural and bureaucratic disasters; we get to see Hushpuppy in all her glory. This movie is joyful, thrilling, boisterous and mind blowing. You are taken on a emotional ride that opens your mind, makes you think and wonder. You are transported to a place - familiar, yet unknown, where critical though and wonder takes place and it's electrifying. A must see, Very Highly Recommended. I can see why Oprah loves this movie. Beautifully Done. WOW!Read full review
I enjoyed it. It was truly a unique film. Worth watching. A little bit like have a back wood Mississippi experience. God Bless, Max Rainet.
