The international edition (I got the Indian one) is the same content as the US edition, but it is black and white. No problem except it has the exact same text, and refers to "red text" when there isn't any. I checked with the professor and his remarks were "its soft cover, black and white, and the paper quality isn't as good, but its the same content". I got a new book, but the paper quality is such that there are holes in some of the pages. The book is very hard reading. Even if you understand the material, the book is very concentrated reading. The assignments (templates available through the author's website) are also pretty intensive. If you can accept the quality differences, go for an overseas version.
I was skeptical to purchase this item since is an "international" edition. The book cover is totally different from website, same authors, same title, and same edition though. Book is soft cover, black and white print, okay quality book. The cover says the edition is for sale in India, PAkistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan only. I will not know if this edition is the exact same one as the US edition yet, until my class starts- in a few weeks. I think its worth trying, since a brand new book can cost over $200 !!
This book is clearly written for those who are seeking to be System Analysts. A significant chunk of pages are dedicated to their specific role. The book covers everything from Database Design, Project Management, Process Management, Object Oriented Programming, UML Diagrams, and System Design. Obviously, no textbook can cover all the topics in depth. Overall, the textbook is very well written and easy to read. The summaries at the end of chapters were very well done. The questions were quite thought provoking. If you are a System Analyst or would like to be one, this book is highly informative. If not, then you will still get a good overview Information Technology.
This book is the international edition. It is identical to the US version as far as content goes. That's the important thing. The quality of the binding sucks, and the paper is flimsy, but I saved about $65 ordering this version and would do it again. Well worth the investment.
The book that was sent was one that was for sale only in India, Pakistan and a few other countries over there. It has the same text, but is totally black and white and the color in the original book is important. The price made me wary, but I figured a $25 gamble might be worth it. I lost!
