Before Star Trek there was Flash Gordon. How he leaps from a moving rocketship to another always fascinated me

OK, these episodes may be over 70 years old but there is no point in selling them if you can't understand a word because of the poor transfer/original. Furthermore, the production company hasn't bothered to put subtitles on these DVD's so in my view they are a waste of money.
Purchased this for nostalgia reasons - to re-watch with my Dad who used to go to the local cinema every Saturday morning to watch the latest episode. My winning bid was unexpectedly low for a 3 dvd box set, the quality of the original is quite poor, but you have to take into account that this was filmed in the early 1930s ! Absolutely no interest value for modern day youngsters, old black and white footage.... but fantastic nostalgia for all of you out there who remember Larry "Buster" Crabbe and Charles Middleton as the dreaded Emperor Ming of Planet Mongo...
An excellent box set and a blast from the past, for anyone who remembers watching this when they were young. Great looking packaging and a real laugh to watch many years on.
I bought it as a present for my brother-in-law in Australia as he loves the old black and white films and I thought that Flash Gordon is probably something he hasn't thought about for a long time but it will take him back to his childhood. These sort of films are not available in OZ. The quality of the film isn't great but they go back that many years, you don't expect it to be.
