    Very good description of the magnetic speedo/tachometers. Great insights into disassembly and repair. However, there are some shortcomings. Very little discussion of the tachometer calibration, which is different from the speedometer. Overall very helpful.

    It's a shame the buyer did not read the book properly before leaving feedback. It's made clear the only difference between speedo and tacho calibration is the wheel size put into your cycle computer. Equations are given for both tacho and speedo for on bike or rig calibration. So, no shortcomings there then.

    Colour printing of the inside pages would put the price up a lot and put some off buying it. But great to hear you liked it and thanks for your feedback.

    I easily repaired a Smiths tach - 3003/01a - that I bought via ebay for $44US. The lower bearing was seized. Great pictures, step by step instructions very clear. Spen a few hours and saved a few hundred dollars. Thanks Graham!
