    Retro Look

    Nice retro style case. It does a good job protecting my lens when it's not on my camera. I think the newer wide angle lens cases Nikon makes are nicer.

    One of the best Nikon Nikkor wide-angle zoom lenses ever made!

    I owned two of these lenses back in the film days to use with Nikon F5 and other bodies. I missed using it, so some years ago bought a mint conditioned AF 20-35mm f2.8 D lens from ebay, to use on Nikon D800/D810/D850 digital bodies. It performed even better than on the F5, and produces outstandingly sharp images with beautiful colours and biting contrast. At f/2.8 wide open it is tack sharp in the centre out to the 'power points', followed with gradual softening towards the extreme edges (just what you want for the eye to be pulled to the sharper central subject matter, with lovely bokeh in the background!). Stopping down aperture pulls in extra sharpness across the frame, at F/8, with F/16 providing micro-detail in the corners (fantastic lens for landscapes and wide variety of subjects!). ...

    First AF after 13 years

    An amazing piece of glass. At f/2.8 it's sharp; by f/8 it's amazing. It's much smaller than what I had anticipated. It focuses fairly fast, and there's no need to use MF. The colors it produces are punchy, bright, and well balanced. On DX it'll work, but you'll lose out on the wide angle purpose of this lens--on FX and film this lens really shines. Well worth the money, and well worth hunting down a good, clean copy.

    great pro-quality lens

    This lens is fast, very sharp, comparably light and small - for most people this is a better lens than the highly regarded Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8 which tends to sell for much more money. Yes, that lens is a little wider and an AF-S lens, but it's much bigger and heavier and much more expensive. So unless you absolutely need those 3 extra mm on the wide end.. take a look at the 20-35mm f/2.8 instead. (I also recommend looking at ken rockwell's review. ebay doesn't allow links in reviews, so just google for his name and this lens and you'll find his site)

    I love this lens!!!

    I couldn't afford the 17-35mm,which is a great lens.I went on ebay and bought this one used for $325.00.What a bargain!It is tack sharp!Built rock solid,a little heavy,a bravo to it's build quality.I haven't found any part of the focus that isn't super sharp.Whwn new this lens was listed at$1600.00.Still advertised in a few stores new for$1000-1100.00.Just a great lens.
