    I had read this book back in junior high; a paperback copy was given to me by my Uncle (from his collection). I remember thinking it was so cool, there being pirates and monsters and aliens that look like humans but hatch from eggs and an early alien aircraft carrier and a lost human child posing as an alien princess. It had love, adventure, elements of danger, and romance, as well as political intrigue. The end was great, too, talking about the number of children born to the hero and his wife. I bought this copy for two reasons: (1) Nostalgia, and (2) I wanted to protect my paperback copy. Upon receiving this copy, I sat down to re-read it (not having read it for several years). I still enjoyed the book, but it did raise some interesting questions (well, one, anyways). The ...
