    The One Year They Got It Right

    I have played countless seasons of NHL hockey on different gaming systems and the PS 2 2001 edition remains my favorite. There are several reasons for this. First the speed of the game is very realistic. You can give your player short burst of speed, like when he has the puck and is racing down the ice toward the goal, or when you are gearing up to hard check an opponent. The collisions on this edition are outstanding. The fighting and injuries are intense like no other edition I have seen. When two players spar off together, you enter "fight mode". One on one, it's up to you to outpunch your opponent to win. I no longer recall what the reward was for winning, but there was some incentive for winning a fight. But really, the best thing about NHL 2001 is the collisions. I have never seen ...

    Great Retro Game

    What a blast from the past. Ahhh, when Owen Nolan was king of the ice for the San Jose Sharks. The detail is great from the start of the game. You follow the team from the dressing room to the ice and through the National Anthem, (which you don't see in present games). Controls are easy to use and the tweaks to the game are simple but, effective. Thanks, EA!!! Enjoy...
