I DO think it's German, but what I think had happened is somewhere along the line, cap & hanger fell through pike opening (there's TWO caps and TWO hangers inside ornament!) and a third, 'new' cap & hanger was applied. Just wish seller would have listed that cap was not original.

    Enjoyable

    Everybody knows Scrabble is a fun game. But this board is made to hold the tiles in place so they aren’t easily moved if the board gets jiggled. The tiles are a little bit smaller than the original tiles, so they are a little harder to handle. All in all, though, we are enjoying the game and glad we bought it.

    Should have order the full size edition!

    Tiles to small to hold on to, can't slide the word across the board like the full size edition and print on the board harder to read for an older person.

    SCRABBLE is perfect for kids and adults !

    love scrabble esp at pool. have a travel size scrabble great for vaca but...this version is perfect for playing with friends in an outdoor environment. Larger tiles are great for those who wear glasses etc. tiles stay in place and easy to read. When the tiles are new, I do spray with a clear lacquer, before using, to help preserve the lettering. further, i store the board, tiles etc in a large zip lock within my swim bag. Stays clean and not water damaged. Box stays at home for winter storage. Use my deluxe version when the swim season ends. Purchase, you will enjoy!!
