About this product

Product Information

Based on the groundbreaking computer-animated cartoon of the same name, ReBoot puts you in the role of Bob the Guardian, a fearless hero tasked to protect the city of Mainframe and its people from any outside threats. In the game's opening cutscenes, the threat is considerable -- Megabyte and Hexidecimal, the show's two main villains, have formed an uneasy alliance to take over Mainframe and destroy it if necessary. Your mission is to find "tears" in the fabric of space, located throughout the streets of Mainframe and across seven different levels, and seal them before time runs out. Several of the tears are guarded by automatic defenses, which can rapidly chew through Bob's health. Power-ups replenish Bob and repair the damage, but you have to go looking for those too. Handy weapons also appear from time to time, including rocket launchers that can fire guided projectiles and are capable of firing multiple missiles at once. As the game progresses, more of the story unfolds in original full-motion cutscenes which fulfill the game's promise of "an all-new episode of ReBoot." Bob's friends will occasionally show up to offer clues or help, and occasionally Mike the TV pops up to offer amusingly Howard Cosell-like commentary (or to let you know time's running out). It all leads to a showdown with Megabyte -- and the prize is the continued survival of Mainframe.

    To Mend and Defend

Classic game based on a classic show. If you're a fan you'll enjoy it. Good challenge, takes some time to get used to the controls. Happy to have it in my collection.

  • ReBoot (playstation, 1998)

Great game for remembering how awesome the show was. Has a whole side plot/story, keeps you on your toes. It has 19 levels where for every level you have to go about repairing terres under time limits, collecting guns and glitch upgrades and get skilled using the zip board. Some parts resemble skate boarding games, other parts are like Doom/shooters. It was hard to get the handling right at first (might be because it's an old game), but all in all, I really enjoyed it once I got the hang of it.

  • After a long search...

I had heard that this game was a decent adaptation of the popular Canadian TV show, and having grown up desperate for more 'Reboot' I had to have the game. So far, I have spent the first bit of the game searching for 'tears' but with the transitional clips of Megabyte and Hexadecimal, or even the Diner, you hardly notice that you've only been doing tedious tasks. The controls are a little difficult to get used to and I'm still figuring them out but I would say if you adored Reboot as much as I did (and still do) then you should get your hands on this little gem!

  • Thank you for the memories.

Awesome sauce! Brand New but old. Graphics looked great but for 1998.

  • Makes me want a playstation 1

I am old enough to have watched Reboot during its original air-date, maybe too old at the time. In ps2 I can play a ps1 game, but I can't save. I'll probably need to buy a ps1 so that I can get beyond level 1 and build progress beyong level 1. The game disc has much fewer scratches than I expected and is well playable. A short duration under the kitchen sink and a quick circular rub with a paper towel and I was good-to-go.
