I wasn't going to order these items after I saw a bad review but took a chance because I wanted this particular look. It took about 3 hours to assemble, I carefully followed the instructions, assembled it on a carefully hooverd carpet. The furniture comes with a thick protective vinyl on the surfaces that does it a good job of protecting the surfaces. Shelves don't line up but that's easily fixed with screw blocks from any DIY shop. Very good value, very happy customer.
