    This CD is fabulous!

    The Statler Brothers are one of the best 4 part harmony groups ever and this CD is packed with many of their greatest hits. The best part is, it sounds as if it was recorded now. And many of the songs have the original tenor, Lew Dewitt, who was a founding member of the group way back in the mid 50's. Lew passed away in 1990 and had to stop performing with the Statlers in 1981 because of ill health. He tried to make a comeback with the group in 1984, but it only lasted for a week. He recommended that Jimmy Fortune take his place during his absence, and Jimmy did and added a new dimension to the group with his beautiful voice. Fortune remained with the group until they retired from performing in 2002 and his beautiful song "Elizabeth" is featured on this CD. Fortune wrote it and sang lead ...

    Good CD for any oldies fan.

    When I found myself actually counting flowers on a wall it brought back a memory of the 1956 Statler Brothers hit which led to this purchase. I converted the song to mp3 adding it to my Goldy's Oldies collection. The CD had several other keepers on it as well. The Statler brothers could actually sing instead of scream; they had harmony and an ethos I could easily identify with.

    harold and don phil and lou and jimmy will always be with if you buy this cd too.

    Great selection of songs and jimmy fortune is great but there is only (1) one LEW DEWITT. Love it play it every time i go anywhere.
