Lecia M7 camera review
I have owned the lecia M2, M3, and M6 TTL, but the Leica M7 is the best one for my style of shooting. it has the same leica quality as all the other M moders, but the with DX film coding and apature priority and AE lock, if you choose to use it. I like the shutter lock lever , which also turns off the light meter. I my view, this is the best leica M camera for me.

The Leica M7 is gorgeous and practical
I always wanted an M7. Finlay, I decided to bite the bullet and get it. The gentleman I bought it from, dropped down the price to let me have it. I guess he could feel how badly I wanted the camera. So here I am with this beauty with no regrets. Pros: 1)Beautifully Designed 2)Solid Manufacturing 3)Small Size 4)Lots of lenses available at all price ranges (Voigtlander, Zeiss, SLR Magic, Leica, which by the way all are good for film photography). 5)Manual Focus (I cannot imagine a pro photographer shooting with auto-focus) 6)Aperture Priority mode (Exposure always spot on). 7)Simple to use 8)One focus point (no need for more if you can visualize where the focal plane is and its depth) 9)Uncluttered viewfinder (Not TTL, but again not a problem if you can visualize the DOF) Cons: 1)Not for ... Leica MP
The Leica M is probably the hardest working camera that doesn't get used. It's so beautiful and feels so good in hand that it has become the paperweight of choice for a lot of camera buffs. But for those fearless few who actually have the nerve to use it, the fact is it really does deliver the goods. It does a lot LESS than most film cameras but it's a total joy to shoot with. And the view through the viewfinder will stun photographers used to the grainy, jumpy electronic viewfinders of so many digital cameras. But the MP is just one solid degree better than the old M6. Like the 6 its mechanical in all but the light meter but its overall fit-and-finish is superior to the 6, as are the materials. It is THE M camera - the quintessence of the M line. They just did everything right. And ... The Leica M is probably the hardest working camera that doesn't get used. They just did everything right. And if you are ever attacked and need to kill someone, you have a ready weapon dangling from your neck. Add the Leicavit and a 90mm lens and you will be invincible. I'm not sure people who have shot nothing but digital for the past five years will be even prepared for its solidity and weight. My advice is to go for the standard silver model. The black paint is too delicate and the tarted up models that people can have custom made are silly and are the equivalent of buying a red tux. I have owned three Leica M6's, several R's and the Leica CL (which I still own) and the Leica MP is the best of the best. It's even better if you use it. But if all you want is to look at it and pretend to shoot with it, go for that, too. It's even worth just holding. It will make you throw your digital camera through a window. I'm sure the Leica M9 is state of the art, and the M7 does more, and more easily, but I like the all-mechanical quality of the MP. It's the perfect machine.

Is so beautiful with the Leica engraving on top and the Summilux 50mm f1.4
I like the engraving on the top plate which made the M7 so different, shutter sound are so quite, so easy to use, especially with the Summilux 50mm f1.4, I can keep it on my shoulder everyday.
